With the holidays coming up, there is only so much time until the New Year rolls around. With the days slowly counting down, it’s time for the high school and its residents to look forward into 2025 and create New Year's Resolutions. When asked, students of the high school had a few resolutions and goals to share.

One such goal that was shared by many was “to try and have a more optimistic outlook on things”, said Zoe Kennedy. An apt goal, as even in the face of challenges, optimism helps us stay resilient, boosts our well-being day-to-day, and attracts positivity into our lives. Another comment Kennedy made was that “a goal you set any time of the year should be organized and well planned,” referencing the multitude of resolutions that go unachieved every year. In order to solve this problem, she advised to “put in the effort into planning or setting yourself up for success.”

Additionally, a resolution that seems to be common every year is to go to the gym more often. When asked, a 10th grader, who preferred to remain nameless, said that “[I] definitely want to go to the gym more often this year and work out, just to be healthier and what not.”  When asked if she had any advice for people hoping to accomplish their goals this upcoming year, she said to “take it slow. You can’t rush into something new immediately, like working out all the time. There has to be a gradual push into it.”

Whether it’s trying to make your outlook on life more optimistic, or going to the gym and working out more often to help your health, 2025 is the perfect year to choose a few goals that you want to achieve.
