December’s big question: what should I buy? With the holiday season just around the corner again, everyone is scrambling to procure the perfect present. Christmas, Kwanzaa, and Hanukkah demandingly call for gifts by the end of the joyous December month. The restful break from the twentieth to the thirty-first soon transitions into a hectic time of stressful shopping. If the season passed you by and you feel like the gifts you gave and received didn’t quite hit the mark this year, here’s a wishlist for Gen Z that they are sure to love.
1. For starters, shoes are a staple. Get your favorite sneakerhead a new pair of Jordans, grab your pal some UGGs for the chilly winter months, buy some new spikes for your track star, or try opting for nice sandals/flip-flops for your friend’s upcoming beach trip.
2. Check out the clothing section of your nearest store or favorite online shopping site. You can never have too many hoodies or cool t-shirts; somebody always needs comfy sweatpants, new jeans, or a pair of funny socks with a comical design is sure to brighten your Gen-Z’s holiday.
3. Accessories make great presents too! Sunglasses, hats, bags, purses, jewelry, and watches can be a nice touch to add to your friends and family members’ outfits. Coats are another option that serve function and style.
4. Buy something that piques the interest for all. Maybe a neck pillow for a travel buddy, some new cooking ware and spices for your friend who experiments in the kitchen, and a pretty beach towel for someone who loves to tan. Shiny goggles will be appreciated by your pal who swims, new gloves/mittens with a mountain-pass compartment will exhilarate your skier, and a new equipment backpack is great for your athletic friend to strut around in on the court or field.
5. Besides things to wear, a present that brings hours of fun and entertainment is sure to earn you the title of best-gift-giver. Keep the fun going with gifts such as a new deck of Uno, some board games, Heads-Up, etc.
6. Another thing Gen Zs love is music, and this is a great place to start. If you're feeling generous, a Spotify Premium subscription would light up your Gen Z’s life, as no one likes annoying ads interrupting their tunes. Another idea is a record player, for shows and songs and maximum music enjoyment. You can even enhance your loved ones’ listening experience this season with new Beats or some AirPod Pros.
Ultimately, the holidays are a time of gratitude and giving. As corny as it sounds, thoughtful presents are always more meaningful than any materialistic items from the shops. It’s like they say: it’s the thought that counts!
