If you’ve been in touch with the recurring TikTok drama, then you’ve probably heard a few speculations about the “couple on the internet” recently. Nick Willkins and Cassie Brooks (or more commonly known as CassieBookTok) both shared their hopeless romantic relationship statuses. Due to the number of lonely short clips in relation to love, viewers became fed up with their pain. Soon enough, the TikTok community was on a mission to set these two lonely souls together. From awkward Valentine’s posts, cringey conversations, and fantasizing anxious phone calls, their gaining audience became infatuated with a new love story. However, their skills on simply greeting each other could use some help. If you’re just as invested in the Nassie ship as the rest of us, here are some suggestions directed towards these love birds for how to up their game.
Word on the street is that you might be having cold feet about chatting face-to-face. Here’s how you should conquer your fears. Step one: Put those conversation cards away, and get to know one another. Trade the pathetic efforts through defeated videos, and switch “what’s cooking good looking,” for a meaningful greeting. Unfortunately, making up a Morse code to hide subliminally within TikToks is not going to catch each other's eyes. Most of us have heard of an app called Snapchat. It’s simple: send selfies of your face, start conversations, create connections. This is the initial pathway to communicating efficiently, and good news: it’s not rocket science. Here’s how the beginning goes: add each other with a quick tap. Then, possibly follow up with a snap, just to reveal each other's identities. A good rule of thumb is to try to steer clear from the out-of-date filters from 2017 that could act as a repelling feature for a future soulmate.
If you’re feeling super frisky with your confidence level, maybe spark up some discussion by typing in chat. There can be so much to talk about! From likes to dislikes, there’s a high chance you’ll find a commonground. With this comes rules too. When the going gets tough, do not resort to TikTok for consulting advice. This is a one-person show, each person pulling their weight to keep the communication alive.
Think again later with a growing, public platform about sharing to the world your struggles of conjuring up the question: “what’s your favorite flower?” The second level is mind boggling, but important. Exchange numbers! Connections don’t always have to be formed through Snapchat; jump into the world of disclosure and conversation with additional apps. Find yourself in the sticky situation of being left on delivered? Send a Game Pigeon. With the swift send of a text, they’ll be sure to have the conversation revived and competition high. Thus, battling over who won a game in basketball or 8-ball can truly go far. Remember, any flirty exchange is an advance towards relationship status.
Despite their “rizz” needing a bit of fixing, the “Nassie” ship has heads turned from all over the internet. Hopefully either of them learns to put themselves out there, because in the grand scheme of things, neither one has anything to lose. If they face the fact that making the first move can lead to great success, they’ll realize what’s been keeping them single this whole time. After all, I bet the sunset would look better if they were watching it together, right?
Millions of people are anticipating the day where the Nassie couple will be named official and we will all then just make up history that tied them together. As an avid TikTok user, the wedding planning is in the works; we hope to receive an invite in the near future.
